Canadian Fencers Bring Home 10 Medals from the Virginia North American Cup

Despite the weather challenges, many of Canada’s top fencers managed to make the trek to Virginia Beach this past weekend to take part in the North American Cup (NAC).

A total of 10 Canadians made the podium for a top three medal, and Canada had 23 top-16 finishes.

Canada’s Wheelchair fencing athletes, Matthieu Hebert (ROU), Pierre Mainville (CLC) and Sylvie Morel (CDO) had outstanding performances, winning a total of 6 medals.

Naomi Moindrot-Zilliox (OLM) took home bronze in women’s junior foil, while the men’s sabre team of Fares Arfa (MEC), Falan Kennedy (SSC), Andrew Wei (BRE) took home silver in Team Men’s Sabre. Francois Ouimet (SPA) finished with a silver medal in Men’s Epee classification.
