The International Wheelchair & Amputee Sports Federation staged its Annual General Assembly recently during the IWAS World Games and elected a new Chair and Executive Committee members.  The CFF is proud to announce that CFF Wheelchair Fencing Committee Chair Gabriela Mayer has been elected to a four year term as a member at large of the IWAS Wheelchair Fencing Executive Committee. 

Mayer was also in the running for the Chairman position and lost by a close count to Jakub Nowicki from Poland. Both defeated incumbent Alberto Vassallo Martinez from Spain who previously held the position for 22 years.

Mayer participated in the first Executive Committee Meeting November 2-3, 2013 and was selected to be in charge of the Referee Commission for the duration of her term, as well as for the European Championships which will take place in conjunction with the FIE’s European Championships in Strasbourg, France in June 2014.
