HEIDECKER WINS BRONZE AT THE NORTH AMERICAN CUP IN LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY

A number of Canadians were among the 2,600 participants taking part in the North American Cup event held this past weekend in Louisville, Kentucky. Most notably among them was Phillippe Heidecker who reached the podium, finishing 3rd in Cadet Men’s Epee. Ranked 44th out of 190 athletes after pool competition, Heidecker won 5 straight matches in the elimination rounds, before losing to American Justin Woo 15-10 in the semi-finals. His bronze medal finish was the best Canadian result for the weekend. Heidecker was pleased with his result, noting, “It was my best result ever. I performed well and I see that the return of my coach Michel Dessureault to Gatineau is starting to make a difference.” Congratulations!
