<p><span style=\u00a0\u00bbline-height:1.6em\u00a0\u00bb>TORONTO (11 juin 2015) \u2013 Le Comit\u00e9 olympique canadien (COC) et la F\u00e9d\u00e9ration canadienne d\u2019escrime ont nomm\u00e9, dimanche, les 18&nbsp;athl\u00e8tes qui repr\u00e9senteront le Canada en escrime aux Jeux panam\u00e9ricains de 2015 \u00e0 Toronto, qui se d\u00e9rouleront du 10&nbsp;au 26 juillet.<\/span><\/p><\/p>\n

<p><span style=\u00a0\u00bbline-height:1.6em\u00a0\u00bb>Les athl\u00e8tes choisis pour participer aux comp\u00e9titions d\u2019escrime sont&nbsp;: Hugues Boisvert-Simard, Maxime Brinck-Croteau, Pamela Brind\u2019Amour, Alanna Goldie, Shaul Gordon, Eleanor Harvey, Malinka Hoppe, Jean Lelion, Leonora Mackinnon, Gabriella Page, Mark Peros, Joseph Polossifakis, Marissa Ponich, Anthony Prymack, Alexis Rudkovska, Kelleigh Ryan, Eli Schenkel et Maximilien Van Haaster.<\/span><\/p><\/p>\n

<p><span style=\u00a0\u00bbline-height:1.6em\u00a0\u00bb>Les athl\u00e8tes se sont qualifi\u00e9s en raison des r\u00e9sultats obtenus sur le circuit de la Coupe du monde de l\u2019an dernier et aux Championnats panam\u00e9ricains seniors de 2015. Sport \u00e9l\u00e9gant, intelligent et moderne, l\u2019escrime captive les spectateurs et impose aux athl\u00e8tes un d\u00e9fi \u00e0 la fois physique et mental, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un m\u00e9lange efficace de patience et de d\u00e9termination, de discipline et de comp\u00e9titivit\u00e9. Les trois armes (fleuret, sabre et \u00e9p\u00e9e) seront pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es aux Jeux panam\u00e9ricains.<\/span><\/p><\/p>\n

<p><span style=\u00a0\u00bbline-height:1.6em\u00a0\u00bb>L\u2019\u00e9quipe est divis\u00e9e en six groupes&nbsp;: trois \u00e9quipes masculines (une par arme) et trois \u00e9quipes f\u00e9minines (une par arme). Chaque groupe a son propre entra\u00eeneur.<\/span><\/p><\/p>\n

<p><span style=\u00a0\u00bbline-height:1.6em\u00a0\u00bb>Plusieurs membres de l\u2019\u00e9quipe s\u2019envoleront pour Moscou afin de participer aux Championnats du monde qui pr\u00e9c\u00e8dent les Jeux panam\u00e9ricains de 2015 \u00e0 Toronto. Au terme de cette participation, ils se rendront directement \u00e0 Toronto pour le d\u00e9but des Jeux.<\/span><\/p><\/p>\n

<p><span style=\u00a0\u00bbline-height:1.6em\u00a0\u00bb>La comp\u00e9tition d\u2019escrime se d\u00e9roulera au Centre aquatique et complexe sportif panam\u00e9ricain\/parapanam\u00e9ricain CIBC du 20 au 25 juillet, et l\u2019\u00e9quipe canadienne participera aux douze \u00e9preuves, soit les \u00e9preuves masculines et f\u00e9minines au fleuret (individuelles et par \u00e9quipes), les \u00e9preuves masculines et f\u00e9minines \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9p\u00e9e (individuelles et par \u00e9quipes) et les \u00e9preuves masculines et f\u00e9minines au sabre (individuelles et par \u00e9quipes).<\/span><\/p><\/p>\n

<p><span style=\u00a0\u00bbline-height:1.6em\u00a0\u00bb>\u00c0 TORONTO&nbsp;2015, le Canada sera repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 par plus de 700 athl\u00e8tes, sa plus grande \u00e9quipe jamais rassembl\u00e9e pour les Jeux panam\u00e9ricains. L\u2019occasion unique de vivre l\u2019exp\u00e9rience d\u2019une comp\u00e9tition multisport en sol canadien, combin\u00e9e \u00e0 plusieurs possibilit\u00e9s de qualification olympique pour Rio&nbsp;2016, fait de ces Jeux une exp\u00e9rience incroyable pour les athl\u00e8tes de haute performance du Canada.<\/span><\/p><\/p>\n

<p><span style=\u00a0\u00bbline-height:1.6em\u00a0\u00bb>La F\u00e9d\u00e9ration canadienne d\u2019escrime (FCE) est une association sportive amateure sans but lucratif et l\u2019organisme national directeur de sport pour l\u2019escrime au Canada. Elle se compose de dix associations provinciales, qui \u00e0 leur tour repr\u00e9sentent plus de 200 clubs locaux d\u2019un oc\u00e9an \u00e0 l\u2019autre. La FCE a pour mandat d\u2019\u00e9tablir, de d\u00e9velopper et de soutenir l\u2019escrime au Canada, ainsi que de repr\u00e9senter le Canada sur la sc\u00e8ne internationale.<\/span><\/p><\/p>\n
