Over the weekend, the Canadian senior men’s and women’s foil teams both qualified for Tokyo 2020.

The women, who were at the World Cup in Kazan, Russia, qualified for the Olympics with a 16^th place finish in Kazan. Battling illness and injury, the ladies were able to overcome their adversity to secure their tickets to Tokyo.

Not wanting to miss out on the Olympic action, the senior men’s foil team, competing at the World Cup in Cairo, Egypt, finished 15^th; also earning a qualifying spot at the upcoming Olympic games.

This is the first time since 1988 that both men’s and women’s foil teams will be competing at the same Olympic games.
