Canadian Fencing Federation Announces Three-Year Partnership with the Nike Team
August 17 – The Canadian Fencing Federation is pleased to announce that it has entered a three-year partnership agreement with Nike Team.
“We are very proud to have Nike Team as a partner with the sport of fencing in Canada,” said Caroline Sharp, the executive director of the CFF, “We have extremely dedicated National Team athletes who are striving for excellence, and the support provided by Nike gives our athletes a tremendous boost.”
The partnership will include Nike outfitting the Canadian Fencing Federation’s senior national team athletes with custom made Nike track suits, athletic wear and fencing shoes. The National Program Coaches and High Performance Program (HPP) athletes will also receive Nike track suits as part of the partnership.
“I’m really excited about our partnership with the Nike Team,” said men’s sabre fencer Joseph Polossifakis, “I already use Nike gear when I fence, and I wouldn’t use anything else, so this is great news. Not only will we look professional at competitions, we’ll also be able to maximize our performance and ability by using and wearing top-of-the-line Nike gear.”
"My team and I were so excited when we heard Nike was going to sponsor us," said women's foilist Kelleigh Ryan, "Their equipment is always top quality so I know we're going to look and feel great in their stuff!"
Canadian Fencing Federation branded Nike athletic wear, tracksuits and fencing shoes will also be available for purchase through a CFF/Nike Team fencing store housed at CanadasLockerRoom.com, which will be accessible through a direct link for the CFF’s website store.
“I am confident that the Canadian fencing community will help us embrace this new partnership by supporting Nike through fencing’s store at Canada’s Locker Room.com,” said Sharp.
