OTTAWA FENCING HP CAMP

On August 25-29, Ottawa Fencing will be hosting our 10th annual High Performance Camp.  The camp will be held at the RA Centre in Ottawa. 

 

Camp Hours: 10:00-5:00 (Optional evening sessions on Monday and Thursday 7:30-10:30)

Cost: $355.00 or $75 dollars/day.

Participants in the camp will include National and Provincial champions, and elite fencers in the Canadian High Performance program. 

 

Development level fencers are invited to participate in the HP camp.  Several activities and lessons will combine all levels.  If your son/daughter is interested in competitive fencing this is a great introduction, and opportunity to train with Canada's Best.  Camp activities include fencing lessons, bouting, fitness training, annual goal setting, mental performance activities, nutritional strategies, team building activities, and a mini tournament.

 

Coaches for the competitive camp program are Paul ApSimon and Parviz Haghandish.

 

Paul has coached the Canadian Women’s Foil Team since 2010.  In those 4 years he coached the team to 2 Senior World Championship top 8 results a Junior top 4 and top 8, and a silver medal at the Junior World Championships. Paul has coached at the Sydney 2000 and London 2012 Olympics.

 

Parviz is currently an RA Fencing Club Coach, and a former coach of the Iran National Foil Team.
