Canadian Fencers Win Six Medals at the October North American Cup (NAC)

Canadians in the Cadet and Senior age divisions travelled to Milwaukee, Wisconsin this past weekend to take part in the first North American Cup of the season.  Canadians won a total of six (6) medals and another fourteen (14) athletes placed in the top 16.

Eleanor Harvey from Hamilton, Ontario took home silver in Division 1 Women’s Foil which had 174 fencers.  Harvey’s only loss of the tournament was in the final to 2018 Silver World Champion Ysaora Thibus from France, by a score of 15-11.  Tinney Mak (HHF, Markham, ON) took home silver in Cadet Women’s Foil out of 165 fencers, and Ted Vinnitchouk (TFC, Toronto, ON) took silver as well in Cadet Men’s Epee which had a field of 146.  Lucas Lesperance (CEE, Quebec) won bronze in Men’s Epee Div. 2.

Ruth Sylvie Morel won two medals in Wheelchair Fencing.  She took gold in Women’s Sabre and Bronze in Women’s Foil.
