The first day of competition at the Pan American Junior/Cadet Championships in Ponte, Puerto Rico kicked off with the Opening Ceremonies followed by Cadet Championships in foil, sabre and epee. Canada was no stranger to the podium today – with 4 athletes earning medals in individual events.

Canada earned 2 silver and 2 bronze in the following events:

Cadet Women’s Epee – Nancy Ye: Silver Medal
Cadet Men’s Foil – Patrik Dula: Silver Medal
Cadet Men’s Sabre – Jihad Kabbaj: Bronze Medal
Cadet Men’s Foil – Connor Hopkins: Bronze Medal
