Young Canadian fencers have added three more medals to the total Canadian medal haul in the last two days of the North American Cup and USA Fencing Championships in Columbus, Ohio, which took place from June 23-July 3, 2014.

Among the medallists on July 2^nd was Monica Lubczynski from Montreal who took home the silver medal in the Cadet Women’s Epee event. Joining her in the event was Cindy Gao (Toronto, ON) who finished in 12^th place, and Julia Barry, a Canadian living in Colorado, who came in 15^th place.

Also on the podium that day was Edmonton native Sean Grant who took home bronze in the Cadet Men’s Foil event.

Canada added to the medal tally on the last day of the 11 day competition, when Toronto native David Gornovsky stepped onto the top of the podium to earn gold in Y10 Men’s Epee.  Finishing just shy of the podium in Y10 Women’s Foil, was Tinney Mak in 5^th place, while Jessica Guo finished 12^th in the same competition.

These results brings Canada’s total medal total to six, with an additional eleven top-16 finishes in a competitive event that draws fencers from across the globe.
