Three Medals for Canada’s Women’s Epee at the Junior Pan American Fencing Championships
Toronto – Canada got off to a good start in the first day of Junior Individual competition at the 2015 Junior-Cadet Pan American Fencing Championships.
It was an all-Canadian final in Junior Women’s Epee with Emma Von Dadelszen (Vancouver, BC) defeating Monica Lubczynski (Montreal, QC). Cindy Gao (Toronto, ON) also reached the podium in third place for a gold, silver and bronze medal haul in women’s epee.
In Junior men’s Foil, Canada’s Eamonn Gomez-Perales finished just off the podium in sixth place and teammates Mikhail Sweet and Sean Grant finished in 9th and 10th.
It was a tougher day for Women’s Junior Sabre with Canada’s top finishes in 15th and 16th place.
Junior Individual competition continues tomorrow with Men’s Epee, Women’s Foil and Men’s Sabre taking the stage. The Junior Team competition runs through Saturday and Sunday.
