Dylan French (DYN, Richmond, BC) led all Canadians with his top ten finish in Junior Men’s Epee at the 2017 Junior World Fencing Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

French finished in 10th place out of 193 fencers. He lost his round of 16 bout by one point, a heartbreaking 15-14 to Maciej Bielec from Poland to advance to the quarter-finals. French has had success in Plovdiv before. In 2014, French came 5th at the Junior World Championships, staged in Plovdiv. He also finished with a bronze medal in Cadet Men’s Epee that year.
