Canadian Fencers bring home six medals from the North American Cup event in Virginia

Nov. 13, 2012 – Canadian fencers had a great weekend at the North American Cup in Virginia Beach, winning a total of six medals, taking home three gold, one silver and two bronze. Canadians had a total of 6 top eight ranked performances in the individual category!

In our women’s foil category Eleanor Harvey led the charge winning gold in the Div. 1 (senior) and a silver in the junior event.

On the men’s side, Marc-Antoine Blais-Belanger took home bronze in the individual Junior Men’s Epee category while Shaul Gordon also earned bronze in the individual Junior Men’s Saber.

Gold medals were also earned by athletes in the Women’s Foil team event; Kelleigh Ryan, Alanna Goldie, Eleanor Harvey and Jenny Zhao and a second gold was earned in the Women’s Epee team event; Flavie Martineau, Marie-Renée Couture and Emma Von Dadelszen.
