June 22 Update: Canadian Fencing Return to Play Protocol

By CFF May 28, 2020

The CFF would like to thank the Ontario Fencing Association’s Medical and Health Committee, which has drafted a Return To Play Protocol that allows for a slow return to club activity while following guidelines provided by Provincial and National Health and Sport organizations to prevent community spread of COVID-19.

The CFF strongly recommends that clubs and members follow provincial and local health directives, as well as read and implement as a minimum, the measures outlined in the Protocol, along with the COVID-19 Risk Assessment Tools for Sport (Appendix A) as well as the Risk Assessment and Mitigating Checklist Tool from Own The Podium (Appendix B).

The CFF reminds all clubs and members that they must, at all times, adhere to the Quarantine Act (Canada), any Emergency Management declarations in their respective provinces, as well as municipal bylaws and facility rules in place to COVID-19 physical distancing and public or private gatherings.  Failure to abide by these federal, provincial, or municipal requirements may result in legal prosecution by the government.
