Junior Fencing Program Leaders Announced

By admin September 16, 2015

The Canadian Fencing Federation’s High Performance Committee met recently to review its program for the coming year.  One of the key changes for 2015-16 will be a return to a Weapon Leader format for its Junior/Cadet High Performance Program.  Development of Junior/Cadet athletes is a key component of the CFF 2020 High Performance Plan and the Committee has decided to establish National Program Leaders who will oversee the selection of the coaching teams for each weapon.

The CFF is pleased to announce that Iulian Badea (Epee), Mike Pederson (Foil) and Stephane Hamel (Sabre) have been named as the Junior/Cadet National Program Leaders for 2015-16.  Their term will run from October 1st, 2015 to August 31st 2016 to coincide with the FIE Junior/Cadet competition calendar.

The Committee greatly appreciates the work of the 2014-15 Junior Program Coaches who will continue to be an integral part of the Junior/Cadet program.  The CFF received applications from many well qualified candidates which made selection very challenging.  Thanks to everyone that applied and best of luck for a successful season.
